Administrative HistoryThe estate of Towie Barclay is located in the parishes of Turriff, Auchterless and Fyvie in Aberdeenshire. It was originally known as Kingsford. The estate was owned by Robert Gordon's Hospital prior to its transfer to the AET in 1909 under the terms of the Robert Gordon's Technical College and Aberdeen Endowments Trust Order.
Robert Gordon's purchased the estate in 1792 from the Commissioners of the Earl of Findlater (two thirds of which was bought for Gordon's Hospital and the remainder for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary).
