Minutes of meetings of the Town Council, and of annual elections: councillors and magistrates in (Sep 1826, Sep 1827, Sep 1828, Sep 1829), stent masters in (Mar 1827, Mar 1828, Mar 1828), and Ruling Elder to attend General Assembly in (Apr 1827, Apr 1828, Apr 1829).
The Town Council had jurisdiction over the Grammar School (changes in management of Grammar School, 7 May 1827, appointment of teachers to vacant positions, 4 Jun 1827, award of bursary in Mar 1827minute book includes scale of fees payable by scholars, 2 Mar 1846), the Jail (escapes from jail, 30 Oct 1831 [mentioned only for dismissal of Town officers and appointment of others])until transfer to County Board of Prison Commissioners in 1840; minute book includes inventory of effects of Prison, 1 Jul 1840), Harbour (petty customs rates changed, 25 Apr 1827 until transfer to Harbour Trustees in 1840), repairs to church (including erection of spire, 13 July 1830), contribution to repair of Low Street, 26 Aug 1817 hurch yard, new market, battery, slaughter house and town clock. Royal addresses engrossed. Regulations and statement of funds of Incorporation of Wrights engrossed(27 Sep 1827). Process against Earl of Fife re entry to salmon fishings in the sea, 1829, 1830, 1832 (including engrossed correspondence, {Head Court protest engrossed and rehearsal of history of Town's salmon fishings, 28 Oct 1829} Appoints date for Head Court, and often follows up resolutions taken at Head Court. Notice of those trading without freedom of burgh (27 Dec 1831), proposal to form a Board of Health on the arrival of cholera (30 July 1832)
