Administrative History | Established as an off-shoot of the subscription fund for the Dispensary in 1868, it was administered by a body of 21 managers: 4 from local government, 7 local ministers and 10 elected annually by subscribers to the fund of not less than 5 shillings. The Soup Kitchen shut in 1914, re-opened in 1921 under a new management committee, and ceased again in 1931 as the committee considered there was no immediate necessity to open the Kitchen. |
