TitleStonehaven Burgh: Memorandum for Jean Knowles
DescriptionThat on the night of the 12th or Friday morning her house was attacked by Alexander Morgan son of George Morgan, and Robert Lennon, and Peter Wallace who made a great noise and laid upon the door insisting to get into the house. After being refused admittance they destroyed a window shutter which was bolted and forced entry at the window and after getting into the house behaved in a vicious and disorderly manner. Jean sent her daughter Margaret Menzies to get the constable who refused to attend without assistance. When Margaret tried to come back she was pursued by Morgan and was forced to take refuge in the constable's house. Witnesses: Jean Knowles, Margaret Menzies and Isabel Menzies, her daughter.
