| Administrative History | Public Assistance Area 19 covered the parishes of Auchindoir, Kildrummy, Glenbuchat, Strathdon, Towie. Public Assistance Area 20 covered the parishes of Alford, Tullynessle, Leochel Cushnie, Tough, Keig. The two areas were administered jointly by one Public Assistance Officer, and overseen by the Public Assistance Area Committee 14 (Donside). They had offices at Strathdon and Alford. Ultimately they were merged to form the Donside Area.
In 1946/7 the Donside Area became Area 8 as the Public Assistance areas were reorganised. |
