Administrative History | St. Fergus Special Drainage and Water Supply Districts were both discussed and rejected by Aberdeen County Council in 1933, approved in 1935, and formed 1937.
A Special District Subcommittee overlooked drainage, water supply and scavenging from 1936.
A proper Scavenging District for St. Fergus and Kirktown was established in 1939, and it may have been at the same time that the Drainage District was also extended to take in Kirktown.
From around 1948, St. Fergus and Crimond areas combined to oversee all Special District services, though individual Special Districts continued.
St. Fergus Special Lighting District was in existence from at least 1962, and was adopted into the county system in 1968, the same year as the Drainage District.
