Administrative History | Deer District comprised the parishes of: Aberdour, Crimond, Fraserburgh, Longside, Lonmay, New Deer, Old Deer, Peterhead, Pitsligo, Rathen, St. Fergus, Strichen and Tyrie.
All scavenging was to be by direct labour from 1944 (except for St. Fergus), and administered centrally.
Deer seems to have been the first district to centralise services over the whole district, as well as to set up Special District Committees that dealt with all the services available in that Special District. Since the districts usually had the same boundaries, this was not difficult. |
