Administrative History | Tarves had a Special Water Supply and Drainage District by 1893.
A Special Lighting District was formed in 1896, based on the Special Water Supply & Drainage District.
The districts requested more money for lighting, drainage and water (separately) in 1902, and in 1922 the Special Water Supply District installed a windmill and force pump to improve the supply.
A Special Scavenging District was set up in 1942 according to the boundaries of the existing districts, and was adopted into the county system in 1949.
The lighting and drainage functions were taken over by the county council in 1968. |
