| Administrative History | Alford Special Water Supply District had been formed by 1909, and acquired fire-fighting apparatus in 1911. Alford Special Drainage District was formed in 1931. The following year the Special Drainage District, Special Lighting District and Special Scavenging District were made co-terminous, and the Special Water Supply District was enlarged. The Special Lighting District and Special Scavenging District were both enlarged in 1939, and the Special Scavenging District was extended again and included in the county in 1949. The Special Lighting and Drainage Districts were both adopted into the county in 1968. |
