| Administrative History | Sandend Special Scavenging District, in the parish of Fordyce, was formed in 1896, and in 1933 Lady Seafield's Trustees gave the district land for a refuse dump. Water and drainage districts were in place by the 1940s. In 1950 a Special Lighting District was requisitioned by the ratepayers, but was not initially backed by the County Council, as money did not seem to be forthcoming from the ratepayers. However, it was formed the following year, and both it and the Special Scavenging District were extended in 1955. At the same time a new drainage district was formed, to replace the one formed in 1938. |
