Administrative History | Established by the Educational Endowments Commission: consists of Hogg's Mortification and Strachan's Bequest. Strachan's Bequest was transferred from Kirk Session of Durris to the School Board in 1888. Strachan's Bequest selected three scholars for Free Education at Woodlands School. Hogg's Mortification provided free education for ten scholars. In Sept 1889 the Trustees resolved to amalgamated the fund and divide them between paying the fees of poor and deserving children or buying books at Crossroads and Woodlands Public School. Bursaries provided books and stationery for 12 students in each school, as result of competitive exam, or as a reward for industry. |
