Administrative HistoryJohn Knox Churchyard is situated just off the Mounthooly roundabout at the bottom of the Gallowgate in Aberdeen. Though rather a small churchyard, it is always worth checking the records if you have been unable to find the person you are looking for elsewhere. Often, people who are noted as being buried in 'St Nicholas' were not in fact buried in St Nicholas Kirkyard, but elsewhere in St Nicholas parish - including John Knox.

Responsibility for the upkeep of the churchyard was transferred to the Town Council in 1925 under the terms of the Church of Scotland (Property and Endowments) Act, 1925, under the care of the Links and Parks Department.
