The Council admitted the following to bursaries of four years duration at Marischal College. James Simpson, son of Patrick Simpson, hosier in Aberdeen; and William Christal, son of John Christal, merchant in Aberdeen; each awarded one of Katharine Rolland's bursaries of £8. John Thom, son of Alexander Thom, farmer in Pitsligo; James Wattie, son of Robert Wattie, farmer in Coldstone; Jonathan Riach, son of Peter Riach, baker in Aberdeen; and John Hunter, son of David Hunter, vintner in Aberdeen; each awarded one of Sir Thomas Crombie's bursaries of £7. William Reith, son of Robert Reith, manufacturer in Aberdeen, awarded William Lorimer's bursary of £5. Thomas McLean, son of Thomas McLean, plasterer in Aberdeen, awarded one of Dr Duncan Liddel's bursaries of £5. (256r - 256v) |
