John Thom, son of Alexander Thom, farmer in Pitsligo; James Wattie, son of Robert Wattie, farmer in Coldstone; Jonathan Riach, son of Peter Riach, baker in Aberdeen; and John Hunter, son of David Hunter, vintner in Aberdeen; each awarded one of Sir Thomas Crombie's bursaries of £7. William Reith, son of Robert Reith, manufacturer in Aberdeen, awarded William Lorimer's bursary of £5.
