The Council admitted the following to bursaries of four years duration at Marischal College. Alexander Black, son of the deceased Alexander Black gardener in Aberdeen; and William Morren, son of the deceased George Morren, late servant to John Adams, vintner; each awarded one of Sir Thomas Crombie's bursaries of £7. Charles Chalmers, son of James Chalmers, printer in Aberdeen awarded one of Katherine Rolland's bursaries of £7. John Kynoch, son of Kenneth Kynoch, farmer in Aberdeen, awarded one of James Cargil's bursaries of £6 10 shillings. John Imray, son of James Imray, wright in Aberdeen; Robert Bower, son of Mr John Bower, schoolmaster in Aberdeen; and Benjamin Williamson, son of the deceased James Williamson, merchant in Aberdeen; each awarded one of Dr Duncan Liddel's bursaries of £5. Alexander Arnott, son of [no name given] Arnott, merchant in Aberdeen awarded one of Turnerhall's bursaries of 100 merks Scots. (148v - 149r) |
