The Council ratified the Police Commissioners' report [report engrossed], dated 10 November 1806, regarding the purchase of property for the proposed new street to be built between Union Street and Tannery Street. It was agreed that where purchase by private treaty failed, the Treasurer could make application to the Sheriff to impanel a jury to award the value of the property. It was also noted that the Commissioners agreed to yield to the Council a stable purchased by them near the Flour Mill for the purpose of building a reservoir, supplying water from the Gilcomston Spring, as it lay in the line of the proposed street, on the condition that suitable alternative premises were offered to them.
