| Description | Council meeting, 30 July 1812 [Sederunt given] The Provost reported that a proposal had been made by George Robinson Esq, Clerk to the Signet, to Thomas Cranstoun Esq, the Town's Agent, on behalf of Messrs George and Alexander More, to refer the process pending between the latter and the Council before the Court of Session, concerning the reduction of the leases of the Harbour and Weigh House Dues, to arbitration. The Council deferred consideration until the Council meeting of 8 August 1812. (232r - 232v)
The Council resolved to appoint Alexander Duncan to George Robertson's vacant bursary at the Grammar School, for a period of four years, following an application from his father George Duncan, Burgess of Guild. (232v)
The Council accepted John Innes Esq of Cowie and Mr James Hay, residing at Fyvie, as cautioners for James Hardie, recently appointed Chamberlain. (232v) |
