Following the report of the Examinators of Competitors for Bursaries, the Council admitted the following to bursaries of four years duration at Marischal College; Charles Crombie, son of Alexander Crombie, merchant in Aberdeen, to one of Katharine Rolland's £8 bursaries; Alexander Gray, son of William Gray, salmon fisher in Aberdeen, to one of Mr James Cargil's bursaries of £6 10 shillings; Robert Cook, son of William Cook, farmer in the Parish of Rhynie, to Mr James Milne's bursary of £5; James Mair, son of James Mair, farmer in Ellon, to Mr Robert Cumine's bursary of £5; Alexander Duncan, son of Alexander Duncan, labourer in Aberdeen, to Dr Alexander Ross's bursary of £5; James Gordon and William Gordon, sons of the Rev Dr George Gordon, one of the ministers of Aberdeen, each to one of Dr Duncan Liddel's bursaries of £5; Robert Alcock, son of the late Rev Mr Alexander Alcock of St Paul's Chapel, Aberdeen, to John Turner's bursary of 100 merks Scots, payable by Mr Turner of Turnerhall.
