| Description | Council meeting, 21 May 1812 [Sederunt given] The Council elected Mr James Paull, to be Preacher in the College Church for life as the current lease, granted seven years ago to Mr George Thomson, merchant and then Treasurer of Aberdeen, would expire in June. Further it was stated that no salary or stipend could be demanded from the magistrates or Council. Instead Mr Paull was granted full authority to let and draw the seat rents of the said Church as his property during his continuance in office. [Conditions of employment engrossed]. (226r - 226v)
The Council granted the applications from Peter Sinclair, John Connon and Alexander Aberdeen, all residenters in Aberdeen, to be admitted as coal metters at the Shore there having arisen vacancies. (226v)
The Council fixed 30 May for the Perambulation of the Town's Inner Marches and visiting the Bridge of Dee and Bridge of Don. (227r) |
