| Description | Council meeting, 1 May 1820 [Sederunt given] The Council granted the application from Mr William Copland, advocate in Aberdeen, to continue in the post of Collector of the Cess for the City and Liberties, on sureties provided by Rev Dr David Cruden, Mr Alexander Fraser, Mr David Milne, Mr Basil Fisher and Mr John Donald, merchants. The Council charged Mr Copland to collect the whole assessed taxes (less a discount of £50 for his trouble, risk and expense), and the small feu and teind duties belonging to the Treasurer. (228r)
The Council remitted to a committee of Baillies Galen and Young, and the two Trades councillors, or any three of them, to audit the Rogue Money accounts. (228r - 228v)
The Council approved the amendments to the regulations established by the Act of Council of 20 November 1799 for carters and backmen of coals employed in the delivery of coal. The amendments had also been approved by the Dean of Guild Court (228v)
The Council empowered the Master of Mortifications to grant a charter to James Reid, nurseryman in Aberdeen, for the feu of a small piece of ground, part of the Lands of Ferryhill, which was granted without a charter to the deceased Alexander Smith, merchant in Aberdeen, by an Act of Council of 25 May 1752, in order to straighten the marches between the Lands of Ferryhill and the croft of land at Newbridge.
