| Description | Council meeting, 18 April 1821 [Sederunt given] The Council approved the attempt by the magistrates to insert clauses for constructing a new bridge over the River Don into the new Turnpike Act for the County of Aberdeen. On advice from Mr Chalmers, solicitor for the bill, Mr Thomas Burnett, the County clerk from London informed Mr Menzies, convener, that the attempt to introduce the clauses into the bill was hopeless. The Council regretted that the magistrates' efforts had failed. (252v - 253r) |
