The Council accepted the offer of George Watt, mealseller in Aberdeen, for a one-year lease of the Meal and Malt Mill within the Town, called the Flour Mill, for £90 rent, with John Paul, farmer at Dyce, as cautioner. (A lease of the Flour Mill had been exposed for sale twice without any offers having being made.) (31v)
The Council authorised the Master of Shoreworks or, in his absence, the Treasurer, to pay to Alexander More, merchant in Aberdeen, sometime lessee of the Shore and Harbour Dues, compensation of £1,372 for his renunciation of the lease of the Shore and Harbour Dues eleven months early on 1 July 1810. The amount of compensation was decided by Messrs Alexander Brebner and John Dingwall, merchants in Aberdeen, joint arbiters mutually chosen by Alexander More and the Town Council, in accordance with Act of Council of 12 February 1814. The Council fixed 16 June 1814 to perambulate the Town's Inner Marches or Royalty Marches, and to visit the Bridge of Dee and the Bridge of Don. (32v) |
