The Council appointed Hugh Lumsden Esq of Pitcaple, advocate, Ruling Elder, to be their Commissioner to the next General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, to be held in Edinburgh on 16 May 1816, being satisfied of his qualifications to be a Member of Assembly. (68v - 69r)

The Council agreed to pay [no sum stated] out of several funds for the relief of the poor, to the Managers of the Poor's Hospital for the year ending Candlemas 1817. The Council elected the following gentlemen to be Managers of the Poor's Hospital: the Provost, magistrates and other members of the Town Council; Messrs Alexander Galen and William Shepherd; Doctors Livingstone, Moir, Ogilvie and Dyce; Mr Niven; Mr Martin of Nellfield; Messrs Thomas Bannerman, Robert Walker, George Thomson and William Smith, merchants; Rev Mr Dewar; Dr Dauney; Mr Carnegie, Town Clerk; Messrs John Ross and John Knott, Teachers of Music and Convener Nicol.
