The Council elected the following thirteen Burgesses to be members of the new Council for the year 1816 to 1817: Mr Gavin Hadden, Mr Robert Walker, Mr William Lumsden, Mr James Milne, Mr Alexander Galen, Mr George Thomson, Mr David Chalmers, Mr Alexander Simpson, Mr George Storey, Mr James Brebner, Mr William Read, Mr Hugh Gordon and Mr Charles Hacket, all merchants in Aberdeen. The Council elected the following four members of the old Council to be members of the new Council: Provost Alexander Fraser, Baillie Alexander Duncan, Baillie Alexander Brown and Mr James Hadden. (77r)
The Council elected Deacon James Cantley, tailor, and Deacon Peter Taylor, shoemaker, to be Trades councillors. (77r)
The Council (and William Cruickshank and George Gray as Assistants) elected the following office bearers for the year 1816 to 1817:

Alexander Brown - Second Baillie
