The Council admitted the following to bursaries of four years duration at Marischall College. Charles Forbes, son of George Forbes, merchant, Lochel; and William Spence, son of the deceased William Spence, sometime Minister at Glenbucket; each awarded one of Sir Thomas Crombie's bursaries of £8. John Sim, son of William Sim, weaver in Aberdeen; George Milne, son of the deceased Peter Milne, Burgess of Guild of Aberdeen; William Kain, son of William Kain, dyer; and James Ferguson, son of Dr Andrew Ferguson, druggist in Aberdeen; each awarded one of Mr James Cargill's bursaries of £7. William Middleton, son of Alexander Middleton, merchant, Burgess of Aberdeen, awarded one of Ross' bursaries of £6. Thomas Anderson, son of Thomas Anderson, farmer, Strichen, awarded one of Reid's bursaries of £6. Charles McCombie, son of Charles McCombie, cattle dealer at Tough, awarded one of Mr Alexander Cruden's bursaries of £5. (80r - 80v)
The Council appointed the Taxers and Stent Masters: David Chalmers and James Milne, two of the present Baillies; William Read, Dean of Guild, Hugh Gordon, Treasurer, John Young, late Treasurer, Alexander Galen, William Johnston, Alexander Hadden, Alexander Pirie, George Thomson, James Duguid, William Joss, James Andrew Sandilands, John Whyte, James Brebner, Robert Catto, Alexander Gibbon, John Lumsden, William Catto and John Smith youngest, merchants; James Grant and James Blaikie, advocates; James Cantley and Peter Taylor, the two Trades councillors. The Council directed the Taxers and Stent Masters to raise the following sums: £526 10 shillings for the King's Subsidy for the year Martinmas 1815 to Martinmas 1816; minus the £91 3 shillings 3 pence balance in the hands of the Treasurer from the previous year.
