The Council appointed the following as Assessors to William Read, Dean of Guild, for the year ending Michaelmas 1817: Baillie Alexander Duncan, Baillie Alexander Brown, Gavin Hadden, William Johnston, Robert Garden, George Storey, Alexander Pirie, Arthur Gibbon, Alexander Hadden, Alexander Gibbon, Alexander Low and William Catto, all merchants in Aberdeen. The Council approved new Rates of Fare for the Porters at the Shore, applicable to goods carried from the Old Quay, Waterloo Quay and Pocra Quay to any part of the Town and the suburbs. [Rates of Fare engrossed.] The Town was divided into the following districts:
First district - every part of the Quay and the street and lanes leading from there to Virginia Street, Shorebrae and Marischall Street to the bridge.
Second district - Marischall Street above the bridge, Castle Street, Justice Port, Exchequer Row, King Street to North Street, Lodge Walk, the Shiprow to Trinity Nook, Union Street to St Nicholas Street, Broad Street and Guestrow south of Queen Street and Baillie Ragg's Wynd, Huxter Row and the Netherkirkgate to the Post Office.
Third district - King Street north of North Street, Frederick Street, Princes' Street, Wales Street, East North Street, West North Street, Queen Street, Shoe Lane, Longacre, Broad Street and Guestrow north of Baillie Ragg's Wynd, Netherkirkgate west of the Post Office, Upperkirkgate east of Guestrow, St Nicholas Street, Correction Wynd, Putachieside, the Green and the street leading from the Green to Trinity Nook.
Fourth district - Gallowgate to the second well and adjoining streets, Upperkirkgate west of Guestrow, Tannery Street, Schoolhill as far as Belmont Street, Belmont Street, Union Street to Denburn bridge, Back Wynd, Harriet Street and the street leading from Harriet Street to the Vennel.
Fifth district - Gallowgate north of the second well and adjoining streets, Spring Garden, Lochside, George Street, all the Loch Streets, Woolmanhill from Belmont Street, Ferguson's Square, Spa Street, Skene's Street and Skene Road to Chapel of Ease, Union Terrace, Golden Square and adjoining streets, Union Street to Union Lane, Windmillbrae and adjoining streets as far as Dee Street.
Sixth district - Dee Street, Gordon Street, Bon Accord Street, Union Street from Union Lane, Union Place, Chapel Street and adjoining streets, Skene Road west of Chapel of Ease to Cherryvale, Gilcomston to Jacksbrae.
