James Grant, advocate in Aberdeen, was appointed to continue in the office of Collector of Taxation for the City of Aberdeen for the year 1822 to 1823 with an allowance of £50 for the expense of collecting and risk of bad debt. Sureties were offered by John Ramsay Esq of Barra, Alexander Innes Esq of Pitmedden and Francis Gordon Esq of Kincardine. (12r - 12v)
The Provost reported to the Council on his attendance at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Convention of Royal Burghs held on 11 and 12 April 1822, detailing the proceedings during the discussion on the various clauses of the Lord Advocate's amended draft of his Bill as contained in the Acts and Resolutions of the Convention which he presented to Council. The Council approved his actions in this regard and unanimously accorded him a vote of thanks. (12v)
The Council admitted George Bourne, stoneware merchant, as a Burgess of Guild and John Keith, tailor, as a Craftsman. (12v - 13r)
