The Provost also laid before Council an application from Lord Meadowbank requesting a subscription towards defraying the expence of erecting a bronze equestrian statue of the King in Edinburgh to commemorate his recent visit, to which end the Council voted the sum of £26 5 shillings in aid of the fund.
