The Council approved of the plan proposed by the Treasury Trustees to rebuild the upper Justice Mill upon an enlarged and improved scheme on account of it having fallen into decay and the machinery having become useless. (16v - 17r)
The Council authorised the sum of £900 to be borrowed from the Bridge of Don and £300 from the Bridge of Dee Funds to the Guild Wine Fund and Commissioners of Infeftment Fund to bear interest at four percent towards defraying the cost of rebuilding the Cross, of making alterations on the Town House and the expence of sending a deputation to Edinburgh with an address to the King on the occasion of his visit to Scotland. The Council approved the appointment of William Rae, formerly one of the Town Drummers, as a Town Sergeant in place of the late Richard Merchant. (17r)
The Council admitted John Simpson, merchant, as a Burgess of Guild. (17r)
