- C S Copland, Westfield Public School, 1st April 1896: advising that attendance is decreasing due to the prevalence of mumps among the children and asking for advice on whether they should close
- Jas Campbell, Frederick Street Public School, 17th April, 1896: advises that attendance has been very low due to illness - Whooping cough, mumps etc.
- J F Cruickshank, Marywell Street Public School, 25th May 1896: advises that nearly 170 pupils are absent and asks for an opinion on whether to count one attendance
- James Campbell, Frederick Street Public School, 29th May 1896: reports poor attendance with numbers dropping by over 200 between Monday and Friday
- Duncan Clarke, Skene Square Evening School, Jun[?] 1896: submits a Summary of Results of the Society of Arts Examinations
- James Allan, Rosemount Public School, 16 April 1896: asks for 2 cabinets for storing Science apparatus as well as accommodation provided for a museum and library
- Duncan Clarke, Skene Square Evening School, 9th May 1896: letter, advising that Isabella Henderson, Woodside, has not the required attendances to sit the Dressmaking exam, with two enclosures - a separate statement of the Entrance Fees for the Dressmaking Exam and a List of candidates for Session 1895-96 for City and Guilds of London Dressmaking Examinations
- Duncan Clarke, Skene Square Evening School, 20th April 1896: regarding the School Board being charged £1 following the use of the Gymnasium, Crown Street for the School’s prize-giving on April 4th
- Duncan Clarke: note requesting the urgent requisition of items for Science classes including powdered sulphur, powdered Antimony, magnesium wire and various sizes of test tubes
- Jas Campbell, Frederick Street Public School, 21st April 1896: requests advice on 2 cases (1) a girl, Horne, who was dealt with by the Board as a defaulter, but her parent wants her reinstated as a pupil; (2) a girl, Thomson, who has been absent due to a prevalent infectious disease in her family [See Shuttle Lane, The Silver City Vault]
- Duncan Clarke, 36 Mount St, Aberdeen, 14th April 1896: requests the use of the Gymnasium on 17th April by the students studying Dressmaking for a social gathering with a few of their friends; letter dated 20th April thanking the Board for the use of the Gymnasium. Note: doodle of a bicycle on reverse
- Duncan Clarke, 6th April 1896: letter expressing his views on a ‘glaring’ error in the Society of Arts Book-Keeping examination; letter dated 9th April 1896 stating that he will advise his candidates in Book-Keeping of the date of the fresh examination and that if they are unable to attend that they do not forfeit their certificate and entrance fee

- J F Collie, Old Aberdeen Public School, 15th April 1896: requests a Salary increase in accordance with the scale as they now hold certificates in Physiography, English and German
- C S Copland, Westfield Public School, 6th May 1896: covering letter enclosing a list of Streets in which pupils reside [enclosure missing]

- Jas Campbell, Frederick Street Public School, 4th June 1896: requests a meeting at Gordon Memorial Mission, Justice Street to view their hall as the accessories, light and height of the roof are much superior to those of West North Street Hall

- Isabella Dalgarno, 40 George Street, Aberdeen, 18th July 1896: requests temporary work as Ex Pupil Teacher before entering Training College and details her experience
- Staff at Woodside Public School, 21st May 1896: reminding the Board that at the transfer of the school, the whole of their salaries were found to be on a scale ‘very much below that of teachers of the same grade’ in other schools and requesting a review
- G F Duthie, Woodside Public School, 14th May 1896: been advised by the Ast. Inspector that Drawing Boards and Drawing Pins must be used for 2nd Grade Drawings and requests these items
- Alexander Forbes, Skene Street Public School, letters dated 5th June 1896 and 18th June 1896: reminding the Board that a Certificated Teacher is required for the Infants’ Class who must be musical; regarding Pupil Teacher Relay arrangements that they prefer Miss Mutch to Miss Christie, the latter’s special recommendation being her music [See pp. 535-536 Board Meeting, 19th March 1896 item (4)]

- Thos C Hynd, King Street Public School, 12th June 1896: advises of work being done to the school without their prior knowledge and asks for the work to stop
- Thos C Hynd, Banchory, 4th August 1896: refers to a notice in the Press intimating the date that the Public Schools will re-open in August and asks for an amendment for King Street School due to the state of the buildings
- Thos C Hynd, Argyll Place, 15th April 1896: amending the number of pupil teachers required for the school and stating where they will be deployed

- B D Reid, Gladstone Cottage, Torphins, 24th July 1896: advising that, as his name is on Aberdeen School Board’s preferred list, he has resigned his position as assistant teacher in Torphins Public School and, therefore, is available to take up duties straightaway if required.
