From March 1877 to April 1886 records name and addresses of parents or guardians, name and age of child(ren), standard preparing for, school professing to attend, when statutory warning served, number of times before Board and Court; and remarks (typically notes about fines, appearance in Court or being sent to reformatory or Industrial School). From May 1886 - Jan 1909 printed sheets recording: name and addresses of defaulters, names and ages of child(ren); school attending; attendance for last three months; standard passed; dates warnings issued; excuses pled; probable earnings of parents; habits of parents; and further remarks (appear to focus on size of family and number of appearances in court). Annotated with notes about the outcome of cases (fines, appearances in court, being sent to Poor House, reformatory or Industrial School). |
