Administrative HistoryKincorth Children's Home was situated at 41 Faulds Gate, Kincorth. Constructed in 1952, it opened in 1953/4. It was one of the new ‘family style’ homes for children being set up by the Town Council at that time, following the Children's Act, which came into force on 5th July 1948. The idea behind these homes was to recreate the feeling of family life and to enable brothers and sisters to be kept together instead of being boarded-out separately. In Oct 1983 the home was temporarily amalgamated with Balngask Children's Home. In 1985 its capacity was 6 residents. It was temporarily closed in Dec. 2016.
