Description | "Charter by James II proceeding upon the narrative, that the Burgesses and Merchants of the Burgh of Abirdene had hitherto suffered great losses and inconveniences by the exportation of Wool, Skins and HIdes, without the Shire of Abirdene, in contravention of the privileges and liberty of the said Burgesses and to the defrauding of the King's great custom of the said Burgh; and therefore giving full power and faculty to the Provost, Baillies and Burgesses of the said Burgh and their Deputes of seizing and escheating such Goods so carried without the said Shire, and liberty of the said Burgh without payment of the said great Custom; one half of the escheat to go to the saids Burgesses for their pains, and the other half to the King's Exchequer.
