Description"License under the hand of James VI exempting the Provost, Baillies, Council and Community of the Burgh of Aberdeen, in consideration of their having paid the sum of £200, as the Taxation laid upon them for the entertainment of the King's Lieutenant and Garrison upon the West Border, from attendance at the Raid and Army assembled at Drumfries;
dated 18th March 1597/1598."
