Administrative History | St Andrew Street Congregational Chapel (1846-1849) and St Paul Street Church (1849-1938) [initially an Evangelical Union Chapel].
St Andrew Street Chapel began in 1846 as a Relief Chapel and due to an expanding congregation a new building had to be purchased in St Paul Street in 1849. St Paul Street church began and functioned until 1938 when it merged with Albion Street Church to become Albion and St Paul Street Church [see CC/3]. In 1966 Albion and St Paul Street Church amalgamated with Belmont Street Congregational Church [see CC/1] to form St Nicholas Congregational Church in Belmont Street [see CC/4] which in 1996 is still a going concern. |
