Administrative History | At a meeting of the Executive of the Aberdeen & North East Scottish Branch of the Pharmaceutical Society and the Executive of the Aberdeen Pharmaceutical Association in 1944 it was decided to fundraise to provide an annual award of a medal to the most outstanding student in the Chemist and Druggist Course (now BSc Degree in Pharmacy) at Robert Gordon's Technical College (now Robert Gordon University). The medal was to be know as the James Fowler Tocher medal in owner of James Fowler Tocher DSc LLD PhC FRIC (1864-1945), chemist and Public Analyst for Peterhead and Aberdeenshire County Council.
