Administrative History | John Blaikie (died 1826) founded the firm of John Blaikie & Sons, plumbers and brass founders, which operated until the 1920's. Three of his sons, John, Thomas and David Blaikie, formed the company Blaikie Brothers, engineers and iron founders at Footdee Iron Workers; and two sons served as Lord Provosts of Aberdeen, John Blaikie of Craigiebuckler from 1833 to 1835, and Sir Thomas Blaikie, from 1839 to 1846 |
