- To enter into consultations, negotiations and arrangements with Government Departments, White Fish Authority, Herring Industry Board or other official or trade body.
- To consider and deal with matters referred by its constituent bodies or Government Departments, White Fish Authority, Herring Industry Board or other official or trade body.
- To monitor and take steps re. any measures that might affect the interests of the Trawler Owner and other Fishing Vessel Owners, and generally to promote and protect their interests.
- To collect, collate and examine statistics and other information relating to the industry.
The Federation merged into the British Fishing Federation in 1976.
