London, just despatching Mac's portrait, his collection is 'a novel and fine idea', visit from Mrs. Laing, he is ready for the pedestals, the Etching Club is to meet there on Monday, Millais, Hunt, Barlow, Calderon, etc., he was lucky and sold all his work, 'lucky as usual', Orchardson is not to finish his big picture for the Academy but will have several portraits in, including one of Mrs. Robertson, 'very fine', Millais also has a couple of portraits in, hoping to see Macdonald at the Academy dinner, looking forward to seeing Mrs. Macdonald, Mrs. Pettie is expecting another baby in about a month, Reid is 'a sterling example to weaker brethren', glad Macdonald is feeling better, 10 March 1882
