DescriptionLetter to Alexander Macdonald of Kepplestone from Dr. John Brown, 23, Rutland Street, Edinburgh, saying that he has received no reply from Lushington, and Macdonald had best submit the line to Geddes [Sir William Duguid Geddes, 1828 - 1900, Professor of Greek at King's College, Aberdeen, and later at the University of Aberdeen, 1855 - 1885] for translation into Greek, either with Lushington's version or without, reference to Blackie [John Stuart Blackie, 1809 - 1895, Professor of Greek at Edinburgh 1852 - 1882] but 'he is not so classical as Geddes, the entrance to the Roxburghe Hotel is almost as good as Veitch's [for access for Macdonald's chair], more enthusiastic praise of Keene, hopes that John will go to Glen Turritt for some shooting, 27 July 1881
