TitleLetter to Alexander Macdonald of Kepplestone from Linley Sambourne, 15 June 1881
DescriptionLetter to Alexander Macdonald of Kepplestone from Linley Sambourne, The Garrick Club, London, saying that he should have the drawing by now, begging that Macdonald would allow Thomas to engrave it, 'I am sure that there is nothing in the picture at all that can be possibly construed as bad taste towards either of the two eminent statesmen', anyway, Sambourne would bear the responsibility, he would profit from it but also he is 'most anxious' to have a drawing in the 'Graphic', he believes this one would make his name, it would also add to the value of Macdonald's original drawing, Beaconsfield's expression was difficult to do as the picture is foreshortened, 'Just think what things are published about Gladstone and compare this which is innocence itself', wife much improved, 15 June 1881
