TitleLetter to Alexander Macdonald of Kepplestone from G.F. Watts, R.A., 11 February 1870
DescriptionLetter dated 11 February 1870 to Macdonald from G.F. Watts, R.A., Little Holland House, Kensington, with thanks for Macdonald's interest, his own fear of disappointing Macdonald's expectations; 'we ought to endeavour to make each other as happy as possible & … it is especially incumbent upon Poets and Artists (who ought to be in the same category) to carry out as far as possible such views', he usually has a friend carry out the business side of painting for him but on this occasion he will state his own terms: 'I will therefore paint for you one of my best designs for 150 guineas (for I cannot consent to take from you so much that you might be prevented from purchasing other pictures, or enjoying other things)'.
