| Description | Copy letter from Hope Macdonald to Sir Everett Millais, explaining that she has had a request from the Grosvenor Gallery to lend his 'Bright Eyes' to their exhibition, explaining that though she would like to lend it she is now only one of the trustees and the trustees have found that Macdonald's will makes no provision for lending pictures from the collection, it is not merely a question of insurance for if she sends the picture off at her own risk and it is damaged, she must replace it, asking for his advice, sad that these conditions prevail, wishing him joy of imminent events in his family, thanking him for asking Barlow to help complete the collection, 18 November 1885 |
