DescriptionLetter dated 13 February 1881 to Macdonald from George Reid, R.S.A., 7 Warwick Gardens, Kensington, London, thanking for his letter and for the photograph of Millais' portrait, asking for three more copies as this one was damaged in the post and Colin Hunter also wants one, intention of visiting Millais, meetings with Colin Hunter, Hugh Cameron, Peter Graham and Joseph Farquharson, Graham has grown a beard, Froude is to sit for a sketch, though 'he went down to Ecclefechan with Carlyles body and perhaps he may not have returned', recommending Shirley's 'The Sergeant in the Hielans', progress in portrait of Sir B. Frere, with small sketch, accounts of his talk of South Africa, mention of Nasmyth and Smiles, hoping to see John Forbes White, working in a studio in Holland Park Road, hoping for news of Edinburgh and Glasgow exhibitions, meeting with J.P.B. Robertson in Westminster Abbey.
