Administrative HistoryThe school was based in premised owned by the Fife Estate, Banff. It had an average roll of 12 and was closed in 1917 when the roll fell to 3 with no future expansion of pupil numbers likely. It catered for juniors and seniors and had a high staff turnover. The school had a close association with the Duke of Fife and HRH the Duchess of Fife who visited yearly and distributed books and toys to the pupils. The death of the Duke of Fife in Egypt is reported on 30 January 1912. On
2 February 1912 the log book records ' weather is very cold and stormy, and the frost is severe. Written work has not been taken according to the Time-table in consequence of cold hands and frozen ink.'
