Administrative History | The school was opened on Monday 26 August 1957. Of the 128 pupils admitted 64 were from Westerton School. The number increased to 135 by the end of the 1957 session. It became a nursery school at the beginning of the 1970/71 session when the Education Committee (minute 16 March 1970) decided to provide 8 additional nursery classes in the city. They were as follows: 2 at Ashgrove, 1 each at Burnside, Byron Park, Willowpark, Greenfern, Kittybrewster and Woodside.

Byron Park and Westerton Schools were amalgamated in 2008 to form Westpark School. Westpark School is situated on the site of the former Westerton School, which was built in 1953. |
