Administrative History | The school was taken over by the Nigg School Board in 1875 and Kincardineshire Education Authority in 1919. It was transferred to Grampian Region Education Committee (Aberdeen Division) on 6 May 1975. The school closed in 1981. The Head teacher and pupils transferred to the new school in Cove - Loirston School - which opened in 1981. Cove School building was then known as Loirston Annexe.
