Administrative HistoryKirkhill School opened in January 1849 as Nigg Parish School. Taken over by the Nigg School Board in 1873, it was transferred to the Kincardine County Education Authority in 1919, Kincardine Education Committee in 1930 and by Aberdeen Town Council Education Committee in 1935. The school was closed in 1939, but in 1957 the Aberdeen Town Council opened a New Kirkhill School at Cairngorm Gardens, Aberdeen (the official opening was on the 14 Nov 1957). This school intially catered for Primary 3 to Primary 7, with infants attending Rosewood Infant School. When Rosewood closed in Dec 1982, Kirkhill opened a Infant Department.

These records contain details of both the old and new schools.
