Administrative History | The primary school was opened 19 August 1969 in the old Mackie Academy building which was left vacant with the completion of the new Mackie Academy at Ury Park. The staff and classes were formerly the primary department of the Academy, but fee paying was abandoned from this date. In 1971, Robert Street School, Stonehaven (formerly Fetteresso School) closed and the pupils were transferred to Arduthie School.

Ed. - 19 April 1971 - 1981. Was formerly Head at Robert Street School, Stonehaven. 3. Malcolm A. Catto, B. Ed. - 17 August 1981 - 1991. Left to become the Grampian Region Division Education Officer for Kincardine/Deeside (newspaper cutting available in paper list detailing his move) 4. John Duffus - 15 April 1991 onwards.
