'I doe sincerlie promise and swear that I will be faithfull and bear true alleadgeance to Qween Anne…the onlie and wndoubted soveranyie of this realme als weill de jure that is of right as de facto that is in the possession and exercise of the government And therefor I doe sincerelie and faithfullie promeise and engadge that I will with heart and hand lyff and goods mantaine and defend hir majestis title and government against the pretended prince of wels (now tacking wpon him the title of king of this realme)…17 November 1702
