Administrative HistoryWilliam Ross (c.1658-1732) and Robert Ross (b. 1702) were farmers at Easter Beltie, Kincardine O'Neil, Aberdeenshire. William's wife's name is not given in the family events recorded in the preface, but it is believed she was Agnes Duncan (from her youngest daughter Elspet's baptism record). William and Agnes married in 1682 and had eleven children: Margaret (b. 1683, m. 1702), Agnes (b. 1685), Jannet (b. 1688), Jean (b. 1691), Alexander (b. 1694), William (b. 1697 d. 1706), David (b. 1700), Robert (b. 1702), Marie (b. 1705), Isobel (b. 1707) and Elspet (b. 1710 married George Barren in 1729).
Kincardine O'Neil's parish registers record a Robert Ross marrying Effie Adam in 1734 and having seven children: Elspet (b. 1736), William (b. 1738), Jean (b. 1740), Alexander (b. 1745), Margaret (b. 1747), Katherine (b. 1749 and, David (b. 1752). The parish registers record the death of a Robert Ross in 1782.
